Ipamorelin

Research background

In animal studies it stimulated growth-hormone release with little effect on ACTH or cortisol, which is why it is often described as selective.

It has been investigated in clinical trials but is not an approved medicine in the UK or elsewhere.

Growth-hormone secretagogues, including ipamorelin, are on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list.

Storage and handling

Supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed 4 ml vial. Keep it sealed until use. Storage: −20 °C, protect from light. Once reconstituted, solutions are usually kept refrigerated at 2–8 °C and used promptly. Follow your laboratory's own protocols and safety data.
