TB-500
Also known as Thymosin β4
Thymosin beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid peptide found in most human and animal cells, where it binds actin, a protein that forms part of the cell's internal skeleton.
"TB-500" is a name used in the research market for synthetic thymosin beta-4, and sometimes for fragments of it. The molecular weight and formula below are for the full 43-amino-acid peptide.

Research background
Thymosin beta-4 has been studied in cell and animal models of cell migration, blood-vessel formation and tissue repair.
Formulations of thymosin beta-4 have been tested in early clinical trials, but none is an approved medicine in the UK.
Thymosin beta-4 and its derivatives, including TB-500, are on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list.
Storage and handling
Supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed 4 ml vial. Keep it sealed until use. Storage: −20 °C, protect from light. Once reconstituted, solutions are usually kept refrigerated at 2–8 °C and used promptly. Follow your laboratory's own protocols and safety data.
Is TB-500 approved for human use?
No. TB-500 is sold by vialinepeptides strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or cosmetic and is not for human or veterinary use. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
